The Y Bar
We’re pretty chuffed with ourselves here at Sluff Towers after the new Y bar logo was given the thumbs up by Y Company. The really exciting stuff for us and any graphic designer is that its going to be etched in stone and laser cut in metal for various different bits and pieces. Now that is a good way to immortalise a logo! The mix of one of the oldest crafts in the world being alongside such a modern technique is great. Happy Days!
Freeze Rentals
A whole new concept in ski and snowboard equipment rental has come to Chamonix. Freeze rentals stocks only the highest end skis and snowboards from brands such and K2, Armada, Volkl, Burton and Rome. This isn’t the usual rental company renting the usual sub standard skis branded as ‘premium’, this is the best kit on the market. Freeze delivers and collects their equipment and to keep you safe on the mountains they also offer full backcountry safety packages and Hero HD Headcams.
Ski Factory
Local instructor Loic Parisot approached Sluff to create an identity and website for his new business. Loic knows his stuff on the design front and he knew what he wanted. Inspired largely by the art deco movement we’ve arrived at the ski-factory.
Chamonix Freeride Centre
We still have much more to come on this but the Chamonix Freeride Centre is now open for business. There have been a few delays so the official opening isn’t until the 18th of December once all the signage is up and things are finished. The centre looks set to revolutionise boot, ski and apparal shopping. Boasting an Oakley pro centre, a head pro shop, Armada and 4FRNT skis plus some unique smaller brands… not bad! Website and shop photos coming soon!
Winter Sessions
Sluff has been responsible for this years Winter Sessions campaign, utilising bright colours, stunning abstract photography and clean type. Unless you’re walking around blind folded this season you’ll come across different posters for each tour, the weekender and more.
Mountain Highs
Mountain highs approached Sluff to help with some leaflet work, which tuned into some web work! Working with web programer Chris Johnson from Alpine Design we recreated the Mountain Highs website, complete with online booking availability and blog.
BOAX custom headwear
Sluff can’t say enough about the Boax hand crocheted hats, headbands, ipod cases and t-shirts (which unfortunately aren’t crocheted!) Needless to say though they are the best money can buy, completely customisable and now based here in Chamonix. Go to the website www.boax.co.uk to see how it all works. Sluff takes responsibility for the branding, t-shirt design and media ads.
Dicks Tea bar
Legendary apres has returned to the alps, unfortunately not to Chamonix…yet. Dicks Tea Bar has had a make over and been opened under new ownership with a fresh new look. Currently based in Meribel and Val’Disere but fingers crossed for a successful launch and more dicks popping up everywhere.
Physi Chamonix
If you’ve been bouncing around the mountains then you’ve probably come accross Physi. Chamonix based physiotherapy and sports massage company has been operating in the valley for three years now providing the best services around. Their stretched logo and marketing materials ain’t too bad either!
The Chamonix Freeride Centre
Here is a sneak peak at the new freeride centres identity. Based on the idea of the variety of mountains, the lines riders make and the centre being the heart of freeride! Nice eh! Anyway its just a peaky, we’re full steam ahead so watch out for information around Chamonix.
The City Golf Championships
Identity for The City of Golf Championship, a tri-nation golf competition taking place across France, Italy and Switzerland aimed at big business in London. The branding will be rolled out accross web, print and outerwear applications.

The Lighthouse
Scotland’s National Centre for Architecture and Design (don’t you know) were looking for a series of leaflets promoting events for school children. The folded poster’s concept is that all designs start simply on paper and the product (in this case) comes alive from there such as Gerrit T. Rietvelds Zig Zag Chair!

The Glasgow Metropolitan College
Based around information graphics the prospectus displays the colleges statistics in an artistic way. This reflects the colleges offering of both art and design, and technical courses.

The National Theatre of Scotland
BE NEAR ME
Using a heavy matt paper stock and a metallic silver ink gave the perfect compliment to Andrew O’Hagans bleak story – ‘Be Near Me’ starring Ian (Lord Emperor) McDiarmid of Star Wars fame.

SEASONAL CALENDAR
Each season the theatre releases a publication highlighting its upcoming performances, we had the fortune to do last Autumns!

Glasgow College of Nautical Studies
GCNS needed a prospectus that had a clear navigation system to cope with the vast number of courses and options it offers. A tight grid and a fancy pants blue foil block on a greyboard cover, lovely stuff!

Skateboards
Now this is a fun job. Whilst working at O Street the guys and I decided to make some skateboards. Using a local shaper we could design the boards shape ourselves. We based the designs on different images we collected from around Glasgow and had them screen printed by local printers Showpony. The shorty boards design reflects the thrash 70’s boards of the past. Pretty cool eh! You can pick them up from the O Street website.

BAFTA Scotland
Using some old school photo development techniques we exposed massive lightbulbs straight onto the photographic paper. A fancy clear foil block and VOILA! The glitz and glam of the BAFTA’s!

Mr Copy
Glasgow based Soma Records DJ Mr Copy approached Zero.25 and Sluff to design his logo and upcoming EP sleeve.
